Studio Fun

January 21, 2013

Last week, we were in the studio learning how to properly light portraits — finally getting to my kinda photography! We all had a ton of fun being both behind the camera and in front of it. Surprisingly, I learned more being in front of the camera than behind it. It’s really helpful as a photographer to know what the model is feeling and what type of direction they’re looking for. If a client isn’t comfortable in front of the camera, it shows! So it’s a photographers job to make them comfortable. I definitely need to work on my jokes ; )

Do you like being in front of the camera or behind it?

The pictures came out awesome! I like being behind the camera more but I like having myself in pictures so I have to balance it :)

I like to be in front of the camera, but I am most often behind it.

I prefer to be behind the camera but can be comfortable in front of it depending on the circumstances. Like when I am in a wedding I feel totally comfortable because I am usually all dolled up and my hair is perfect and I am wearing a pretty dress. ;)
