“There are years that ask questions and years that answer.” ― Zora Neale Hurston, Their Eyes Were Watching God
As 2012 comes to a close, I want to reflect on some of the highlights in the past year. These moments have shaped me and brought me to where I am today. 2012 was hard, stressful, eye opening, and beautiful. Here it goes:
Worked my butt off and received a really positive performance review at work.
Did serious damage on my NYC Bucket List.
Played assistant photographer at some beautiful, summer weddings.
Traveled to Wyoming.
Pushed my food comfort zone with the help of a health coach and fell in love with green juice.
Began photography school at BU CDIA.
Started my own photography business (and blog design business on the side).
Completed a 30 day yoga challenge.
Spent an amazing weekend with friends.
Song of 2012: Three-way tie between, “Sweet Serendipity” by Lee DeWyze “Goodbyes Made You Mine” by JT Hodges and “That’s How I’ll Remember You” by David Nail. (No, I can’t choose just one…)
Book of 2012: The Hunger Games, Book One
Mantra of 2012: “Make your decision right.” (The wise words of my mom.)
Favorite moment of 2012: Yoga on Thanksgiving
Tell me any of the following: Favorite song, book, mantra or moment of 2012?

Hmmm, it’s really tough to pick a favorite song as I loved so many! My favorite book was The Fault in Our Stars. I didn’t really have a mantra besides ‘get through this’ which sounds awful to say, but it’s honestly how I felt when I think back on CFA and what ended up being an overwhelming travel schedule for work. And I did a post today of my favorite moments, but the top ones were passing the CFA, meeting my boyfriend, and finding out my dad was cancer free.
Crazy year! I love moms advice, it takes the crazy pressure out of decision making!
Love the mantra!! It may be a little late to use it in 2012, but I’ll give it a shot next year.
I have an impossible time picking a song…
I wish I moved to NYC this year!!! I am in love with NY! I just found your blog. I live in Canada on the prairies, but I am a New Yorker at heart. I have gone every year for the last three years for a week vacation there, and I can’t wait to go back. I am thinking of a solo trip this summer. I’d love to meet up with some bloggers while there if I do!
My favorite book of 2012 was MWF Seeking BFF because it absolutely changed my life and I can’t wait to start putting what I learned from that into practice.
My favorite moment was the few hours I spent in Jamaica in May. I love that island and I love the feeling of utter peace and contentment I felt. I want to go back so much!
